WHERE WE WORK

The sub-arable rangelands of Kenya are home to 25% of its human population, over half the national livestock heard and 80% of all wildlife. Economically, the rangelands account for 13% of the GDP over half the revenues earned by Kenya’s $500 million wildlife industry.

ACC has devoted much of its efforts to studying the rangelands of Kenya, understanding the changes confronting pastoralists and wildlife and improving livelihoods through better conservation and use of natural resources. ACC therefore has selected key landscapes, primarily in the South Rift region along the Tanzania border and Rift region north of Nairobi, to undertake projects that have broad application.
